Sorority Chapters at Villanova

Alpha Phi (ΑΦ)

Alpha Phis are members of a lifelong sisterhood, a woman’s fraternity. Our keystone is friendship–warm, simple and sincere. In Alpha Phi there is encouragement, understanding, and opportunities to grow. With members all over the world and collegiate and alumnae chapters throughout the United States and Canada—our sisterhood knows no bounds.

The objectives of our Fraternity are the promotion of growth in character; unity of feeling, sisterly affection, and social communion among our members. In all that we do, we try to obey God’s principles of justice and right. We have banded ourselves together to improve our minds and hearts, and we seek to aid each other through a constant watchcare always given in love. We believe ourselves to be sincere searchers for truth.

We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. And we who are thus united are under a solemn pledge to lend a helping hand to one another

Here at Villanova, Alpha Phi helps support our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation, which in turns supports Cardiac Care, through several events throughout the year- PhiEsta Bowl, Jail and Bail, and Pot O' Gold. In addition to Philanthropy events, Alpha Phi sisters like to participate socially with each other at events such as formals, mixers, cocktail, SPIT dinners, IK lunches, sisterhood activities (Phillies Games, hayrides, belt parties, etc.), study sessions, and at many more opportunities.

If you would like to learn more about Alpha Phi, please ask any one of our 101 sisters on campus or browse our website!

Alpha Chi Omega (ΑΧΩ)

Alpha Chi, to each of us, is something different. We are all unique individuals and we come together to form a strong bond in sisterhood. The differences within each sister create a strength within our chapter that cannot be broken. When one sister lacks something, within another sister lies the very thing that she needs. We also have strong principles that we hold close to our hearts. We need only to return to these roots to get back to the very tie that binds us. Our ritual brought us together and our ritual keeps us strong. Sisters by chance, friends by choice. Welcome to the Zeta Tau Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega!

Chi Omega (ΧΩ)

Chi Omega Fraternity was founded at a time when women were just becoming visible on our nation's university campuses. These early collegiate women were destined not only to manage home and family--they would establish a foothold as leaders in the community and the business world. It was a time of tremendous intellectual growth and personal challenge for these pioneers...and they recognized the need for a strong system of support from both friend and mentor.

To value the talents of women...to encourage them in realizing their greatest potential. These are the principles upon which Chi Omega was founded in 1895 at the University of Arkansas. Now, over a century later, these founding principles are just as relevant.

Today, Chi Omega is the largest women's fraternal organization in the world with 300,000 initiates and 170 collegiate chapters. Since its beginning, Chi Omega has nurtured its members by providing them with unique opportunities in leadership, in scholarship, and in life-long friendship. Ours is a distinguished history...and our most vital role has been the preparation of young women to achieve their highest possible aspirations.

Kappa Kappa Gamma (ΚΚΓ)

Kappa Kappa Gamma supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through our fundraising efforts throughout the year. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded on a promise made between two sisters – Susan Goodman Komen and Nancy Goodman Brinker. Suzy was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978, a time when little was known about the disease and it was rarely discussed in public. Before she died at the age of 36, Suzy asked her sister to do everything possible to bring an end to breast cancer. Nancy kept her promise by establishing the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in 1982 in Suzy’s memory.

Pi Beta Phi (ΠΒΦ)

Welcome to the Pennsylvania Theta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. Pi Beta Phi Fraternity was founded at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, on April 28, 1867, as I.C. Sorosis. Pi Beta Phi was the first national secret college society of women out of the desire to be modeled after the Greek-letter fraternities of men present at the time. During a time when few women were admitted to colleges and universities, Pi Beta Phi created a feeling of unity among women. These first Pi Phi's met at the Holt House, which still stands today and serves as a memorial to the 12 original founders. Pi Phi was also the first to recognize the joy found in service to others expressed in the organization of the first national philanthropic project. The PA Theta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi was started on October 1, 1989 at Villanova University. We hope that you will take some time and get to know more about our Chapter. Pi Phi’s are a group of fantastic sisters, and we strive to uphold the mission of our fraternity: to promote friendship, develop women of intellect and integrity, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service.
