Students can become involved in furthering
sustainability on campus in several ways:
(1) as
representatives on the President's Environmental Sustainability Committee (PESC).
The application process for students to join PESC is competitive. Once
accepted, all student members (a) will be a member of the Student
Subcommittee of PESC; (b) are expected to participate actively in PESC initiatives
and work closely with the PESC faculty advisor(s);
and (c) will join one of the eight PESC subcommittees (Academics and Student Life,
Communication, Office of Sustainability, Operations/Energy Use, Physical
Environment, Transportation, Earth Day, and Waste Minimization and
Recycling).
(2) in
senior thesis or independent projects sponsored by an academic department
and mentored by faculty members in one of the colleges.
(3) in
independent projects across campus that are associated with the President’s
Environmental Sustainability Committee. Contact
