Villanova University will strive to conduct its
activities in an ecologically sound, socially just and economically viable
manner, and will continue to do so for future generations. Villanova University
will support the concepts of sustainability in its curriculum, research, and
related activities, preparing all members of the Villanova community to
contribute to an environmentally sound and socially just society. The
institution will strive to function as a sustainable community, embodying
responsible consumption, promoting ecological literacy and environmentally sound
practices among its students, faculty, staff, and graduates, and supporting
these values in the local community.

Green Campus Recognition Awards
Villanova University received five prestigious Green Campus Recognition
Awards from the National Wildlife Federation! In conjunction with Villanova
University's entry into the National Wildlife Federation's (NWF) Campus Ecology
Yearbook, Villanova has been awarded five NWF Green Campus Recognition awards.
These awards are granted annually to approximately 12 or 13 colleges and
universities with measurable positive achievements and commitment to
sustainability.
Villanova's Green Campus Recognition awards were granted by the NWF for the
following initiatives:
- The passing of Villanova's Green Purchasing Policy
- Villanova's Stormwater Wetland Project
- Villanova's successful Recycling program and initiatives
- The passing of Villanova's Environmental Sustainability Policy
- The passing of Villanova's Energy Star Purchasing Policy
