The Technology Support Services (TSS) a division of UNIT provides
walk-in, phone, on-site (faculty/staff) and on-line computer support to
the students, faculty, and staff of Villanova University. Outages,
maintenance and problems are communicated to the campus by TSS.
PC
support is provided by the Software and Hardware Support Service teams.
Services include the installation, configuration, and problem resolution
for, PC's, network connectivity, virus detection and removal,
application support including (Microsoft Office Suite, Novasis/Banner
etc.) In addition, TSS oversees the Required Laptop programs and the
Computer Purchase Program for Villanova University. TSS is also
responsible for supporting Active Directory, leveraging and managing the
SMS infrastructure, and providing support for the Windows server
environment.

Discussions and Newsgroups "Buy & Sell" Moving
As of May 7, 2007 the discussions and newsgroups will be moved to a
web-based application known as Microsoft Sharepoint. Although, the
newsgroups will still be viewable in Mozilla Thunderbird, they will be
read-only. In order to post or reply a message, please visit the
discussion forum site.
"Duplicate Name Exists" Error
Instructions: Click Start, Control Panel, Go to System, click the
Computer Name Tab, click Change. Enter your VUTag (VUXXXXX) and click
OK, Apply and then Reboot. This will resolve your error message. This
does not have any effect on the performance of the machine.
"Viewpoint Virus"
McAfee is detecting updated versions of Viewpoint Manager as a Virus. In
order to resolve this go to Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs
and Remove and instances of Viewpoint from your computer.
