UNIT has created a three tiered award system to recognize staff members' hard
work, innovation and creativity both on the individual and team levels. The
three awards are as follows:
Tier 1:
See it and Recognize It
Acknowledges an individual's
hard work on a day-to-day basis.
Tier 2:
Above & Beyond Award
Team or Individual Achievement Award
Commends either
an individual or a team for the completion of significant tasks or
projects.
Tier 3: CIO Award for Excellence
Honors a staff member for
overall outstanding work.

MS Exchange Infrastructure Project

This team implemented a new messaging platform. This included the migration
of the iPlanet mail/calendar to MS Exchange 2007. The team successfully
migrated over 14,600 users to the new email system.

The Client Migration Team -
2/20/2008
The Client Migration Team was recently awarded the Tier 2 Award for
developing and testing a process to export local mail
and contacts from Thunderbird to Outlook 2007. The team successfully
migrated over 14,600 users to the new email system,
installed Outlook and migrated contacts and local mail on more than
1300 machines. A schedule created for the migration and the team was
dedicated to adhering to it. Also, the team offered training sessions to
faculty and staff, and answered over 100 calls relating to the migration.
