Maintenance & Engineering

Maintenance & Engineering

The Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) area performs a wide scale preventative maintenance and repair program for all media equipment installed within University Registrar scheduled classrooms. If an equipment problem is encountered within the classroom it should be reported to the MT repair hotline (9-5631).

M&E also updates equipment periodically, as well as coordinates new classroom media installations. For those faculty or staff who are not familiar or comfortable with utilizing classroom multimedia systems, we can provide hands on training (9-6505).

University Owned Equipment

Maintenance & Engineering will repair most media equipment owned by academic departments, such as VCRs, televisions, slide projectors, audio cassette recorders, etc. on a carry in basis, pending parts availability. Please note that if the item brought in for repairs is past its normal usage expectancy, we will advise that it be replaced with newer equipment.

More Information

Please contact University Information Technologies (9-7777) for any network or computer related problems encountered within the classroom.

Before bringing in any equipment for repairs, please call ahead for an appointment (9-6504). If the equipment is too large to carry, such as a television, your department can make prior arrangements with Facilities (9-7893) to have it transported.

Payment for all chargeable services and/or materials can be made with a departmental charge back account number.
