TaskStream is the electronic portfolio vendor of choice
on Villanova’s campus. All students and faculty may create
an electronic portfolio using TaskStream. Since TaskSteam is
a PowerLink partner with Blackboard Vista access to
electronic portfolios from the main Vista course listing
page is possible.
Several types of electronic portfolios may be created using
TaskStream. A Resource Folio may be setup for the storing of
artifacts. The Resource Folio may be thought of as an
electronic file cabinet. It may be organized by topic or
course. A Presentation or Showcase portfolio is easily
created using a variety of pre-defined templates. This type
of portfolio includes an opportunity for reflections. A
Directed Response Folio is a bit more structured type of
portfolio and may be created and customized according to the
needs of the instructor. All portfolios contain artifacts.
Artifacts may include samples of writing, excerpts from
papers, MS PowerPoint presentations, and images, audio or
video clips. Instructors, peers, team members, and potential
employers can be granted permission to view specific
artifacts with an option for them to provide feedback.
TaskStream provides additional tools for assessment and data
collecting and reporting. The data collected could be used
for accreditation purposes. Many of the reports available
through TaskStream can be exported to Excel for further
analysis.
