Our warehouse database
is part of OLTP database which contains more than twenty warehouse tables
that are refreshed each night. Each warehouse table can hold data
from many Banner tables. These tables are created to consolidate
data into one table from several tables so retrieving data from
Discoverer and other reporting tools is easier.
We have a crontab file where programs
are located and are executed automatically at specified times to create
the warehouse tables. Most of the warehouse tables that are refreshed
are refreshed each week night between 5PM and 7AM.
A new version of stand-alone OLAP Data
Warehouse may be implemented in the coming months through Oracle
Warehouse Builder.
