After I receive my IPhone, how do I configure it?

A member from the mobile support team will setup an appointment to configure your device.  Note An iTunes account is needed for setup of the phone.  ITunes accounts require a credit card.  No procurement card is to be used in this field.  This card will be used for personal charges such as purchasing music or applications for the IPhone. 

Is there anything that does not sync with the IPhone?

Yes, notes and tasks do not sync with the IPhone.  Email, contacts, and calendar items do sync wirelessly, but notes and tasks do not sync at all.  When choosing a device please determine whether you can work without the tasks and notes syncing before choosing the IPhone. 

If I am having an issue with my Villanova devices, who should I contact?

Does the IPhone work with the Villanova Wireless network?

No, the wireless on the IPhone is unable to connect to the Villanova Wireless network.  

Is there anything I can do to increase battery life on my IPhone?

Some users will find the battery life of the IPhone to be too short, if you experience this follow these tips to help conserve battery life. 

  1. Turn off the wifi
  2. Turn off the location services (gps)
  3. Disable the 3g connection
  4. Turn off the bluetooth.

If my IPhone is lost or stolen can we remotely wipe the phone?

Yes, we can remotely wipe the phone.  If the phone is lost or stolen, please contact TSS and report the issue at 610-519-7777 as soon as possible.  Note that this process will erase all information from the device and if the device is found after it is wiped, the phone will need to be reconfigured.  

How do I sync my music at home to the device?

Connect the IPhone to the home computer that you has iTunes, and you will be prompted to erase and sync the phone so that the music, videos, and applications on your home computer will sync with your IPhone.  Note this process will not remove the settings for your email, calendar, and contacts.  The items in those categories will remain unchanged by this process.
