These instructions are to install U-Vault to your Microsoft Windows XP laptop or desktop from the link appearing on the U-Vault page of the Villanova University website. Your computer should be connected to your Internet connection prior to installation.
You will be prompted for your UVault ID and password during installation.

• If you have not signed up for an account Click Here.
• Download and run U-Vault.exe

This is the opening screen of the installation. This screen requires your user name and password for your account. Your username is your first initial last name (ex. JSmith01). The password should be the same as the one entered before downloading the software from the website. When completed, click the Next button to continue.
Progress from the installation will show similar to the screen on the right. Files are being copied to your computer, setup of the software is happening, and registration of the software is being completed.
Installation is complete. Click Finish to close the installation program. U-Vault is now set up to automatically back up your My Desktop and My Documents folders. The time of backup is randomized, but will be between 8:00PM and 8:00AM. Leave your computer on and connected to the network overnight and U-Vault will backup your data and send you an email afterwards with the status of the backup.
