All departments and offices within the University are provided websites, The Web
Services and Technologies (WS&T) Division are responsible for the design,
maintenance and upgrade of these sites. FrontPage is the tool currently used for
editing websites. Training is provided to students. staff and faculty. WS&T also
provide web applications for any non administrative application request.
User Sites
Each student and employee is provided a personal website on the University's web server. Using the user's
individual ID and password, the site can be accessed and edited using FrontPage.
Web Environment
Our production environment
consists of an Extreme Virtual-IP switch which accepts all external requests and
balances these among two Solaris web servers running Apache HTTP Server version
2. Each HTTP server balances requests for dynamic content between three
Solaris-based Apache Tomcat application servers version 5.0. |
