To begin editing your profile, open the page that displays your profile (a
faculty and staff page, or department contact page) and click on the link for
your name. Your profile page will open with an area for your photo (if that
option has been chosen to be displayed), as well as
your contact information and any profile fields that have been selected to be
displayed by your college or department and are programmed to be displayed.
- Click on the link at the top of the page that says Click here to edit
your BioPage in a new window. (If the profile page has not yet been
created, you may navigate to:
http://vuws.villanova.edu/bio/edit?
mail=firstname.lastname@villanova.edu)
Replacing
firstname.lastname@villanova.edu with your email.
- Enter your VU UserID and password.

- To edit an existing category:
Click on the edit button to the left of each category.
If the edit button is grayed out, that information can only be changed in
Banner.
If there is any incorrect information in the default fields (un-editable), such as
campus address, phone, and contact information, please contact your department
or administrator to submit an online help ticket to correct the information in
Banner.

- To list multiple entries in each category, use the "Insert" button
to the left of the category to enter one or multiple entries. For example,
under Education, if you have a B.A. and M.A., add the entry for one degree,
then click Save. Follow the same directions to insert a new item. Each entry
for a category will appear as a bulleted item in the actual display of the
profile.
- Fill in only the fields specified for your department’s profile page.
(Please check with your department head or web site editor to find out which
fields). You may fill in the other fields, but they will not be displayed on
your profile as the format of your profile fields have been programmed
specifically with specifications from your Department or School.
- When using HTML tags to format your content, please be sure that the tags
are correctly formatted, i.e. <opening tag> </closing tag>.
- Important:
When copying content from Word, you may need to
first paste the information in Notepad so that Microsoft characters are
stripped from the text. If not, then the characters may corrupt the profile
or cause it to not display correctly. You will then need to use the link in
item #1 to navigate back to the profile to correct the changes.
Saving Your Changes
- After each entry, Click Save. When finished editing your entire profile,
click Exit. Refresh your page to see new changes.

Incorrect Profile Information?
If your Banner information is incorrect or incomplete, fill out a
UNIT Request for Services and
include the updated information.
Special Notes
Be sure that your photo is up-to-date for your profile (if you wish to
have it displayed). Please forward all photos (.jpg format) to the appropriate
person who is coordinating your department or college web site.
When inserting a URL for your Personal Home Page, please be
sure to put the full URL and be sure the end of the URL does not have any
spaces. The programming for that field is ultra sensitive and will cause the
link to break if any spaces are present.
