What can cause interference with my wireless connection?

Wireless signals can be interrupted by a number of different devices. Cordless 2.4MHz phones may cause severe interference as well as microwave ovens and high voltage audio speakers.

These devices may cause interference without being present in the specific room where the wireless connection resides. Using personal wireless access points, gateways or routers are another major cause of interference. These devices often operate at the same frequencies as the campus wireless system, which can cause slowness or disconnections, so it is best not to use them.
