Victoria Henck ’17 COE

Victoria Henck is a senior from Bel Air, Maryland majoring in Civil Engineering with a minor in Sustainability Studies.

“The College of Engineering has provided me with a great foundation. I’ve been able to secure internships with leading engineering firms and complete student research in environmental engineering,” she says.

In addition to her challenging course load, Victoria has become a leader in the College’s co-curricular activities. She serves as President of NovaCANE (Community Action by New Engineers), which leads monthly afterschool STEM activities for middle school students in Philadelphia. Victoria’s favorite activity is in December, when 6th grade students build houses out of graham crackers and icing, then test their stability on a shakeplate to simulate an earthquake.

Victoria also serves on the executive board of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), part of the College’s commitment to supporting women in engineering. Female student and faculty representation at the College currently outpaces the national average.

Outside of class, you can catch Victoria beaming with pride at Villanova Basketball games. As a member of the band, Victoria rallies the crowd for each victory.

“Villanova has become my home, and I know that after graduation I will take the values that I’ve learned here with me wherever I go.”
