2018 Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference (MAUSRC)

The Villanova Department of Sociology and Criminology is pleased to announce that the 38th Annual Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference (MAUSRC) held on Friday, April 27, 2018. This conference will be held at Villanova University and sponsored by the Department of Sociology & Criminology.

Come join more than 100 students, faculty, and staff from diverse disciplines such as Anthropology, Global Studies, Sociology, and Education from institutions across the Mid-Atlantic region including Elizabethtown College, the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Haverford College, Temple University and Drexel University.

We will convene from 9:30am-4pm and the day’s events will include an inspiring keynote speaker, a complimentary lunch, and exciting opportunities for undergraduate students to present their own research as well as to hear what their peers across the region have been investigating.

There is no fee to register or participate in the conference. Student participants and their project advisors will be treated to an opening reception and lunch.

Registation

 

Registration for the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Undergraduate Social Research Conference (MAUSRC) is now open! Registrations are due Friday, April 13th. Student registration can be found here. Students must register to participate in the conference. 

Students should prepare a 10 minute oral presentation for an audience of students and faculty.  Laptops and projectors will be available in all panel session rooms. PowerPoint presentations should be uploaded below to avoid technical difficulties on the day of the conference.  We will provide students with direct access to the uploaded PowerPoints on the laptops in each panel session room on the day of the conference. To make it easier for you to find your presentation, we recommend that you re-name your file so that it clearly states your name (last name, first name).  As a back-up, we recommend that you also come prepared with your presentation file on a USB flash drive.

We also encourage faculty and staff to register for the conference. This will allow us to provide you with a name badge, include you in our lunch count, and offer you specific opportunities to promote the success of the conference! Faculty and staff registration can be found here.
