We look forward to your arrival on campus and to working with you throughout your college career. We designed this reference page to give you ready access to important links and to provide you with information that will help in your transition to college.
All first year students will be assigned a faculty advisor by late summer and will be able to view their advisor's name through myNova. Your faculty advisor will contact you before your arrival and will meet with you during New Student Orientation. At this time you will be able to discuss your schedule and make necessary changes.
You will be scheduled for five 3-credit courses (and perhaps an additional 1-credit course or two) based on the preferences you selected. Undeclared arts students will be registered for Advising: Explore and Experience (ASPD 1000). Please note that schedules will not be finalized until mid-August. You will have an opportunity to review your schedule with your faculty advisor prior to the start of classes. Necessary changes may be made at that time.
It is your responsibility to have your AP or IB scores sent to Villanova. If you have earned academic credit via AP of IB exams, course equivalents will appear on your academic transcript. To check if your AP scores have been received, follow these steps:
• Log into myNOVA
• Click on First Year tab
• Go to Freshman Checklist on right side of page.
• Scroll down to Self-Check Menu
• Click on Check Advance Placement Scores
• Click on 'Fall 20xx' (in scroll box)
• Click Submit
The individual College letter will appear here. If scores were received, the message will display scores and any credit given.
If scores have not been received, a message will display to provide contact information and the AP policy for your college.
Please note: all AP scores must be received by the end of freshman year.
Policies on AP and IB credit may be found here.
If you indicated an interest in pursuing one of the Health Professions, you will be contacted by a member of the Health Professions Advising staff, who will assist with your course schedule.
Please see the New Student Orientation page on the Student Life website.
Make sure to read the Villanova Minute, which you will receive by email every Monday during the academic year. The Minute contains valuable information on events and opportunities for CLAS students.
