VILLANOVA, Pa., April 9, 2018 - Villanova School of Business (VSB) was honored to host PwC’s Global Chairman Bob Moritz as part of VSB’s CEO Signature Series which serves as a platform for conversations between industry leaders and Joyce E.A. Russell, PhD, the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB.

The discussion showcased VSB’s and PwC’s continued commitment to inspiring students and embracing global perspectives as well as VSB’s long-standing relationship with PwC; in fact, PwC has been among the top employers of Villanova students for the past several years, currently employing more than 400 alumni.

Dean Russell and Mr. Moritz addressed a variety of topics and fielded questions from Villanova students ranging from career paths and future planning to international development from the perspective of a global organization.

“In our industry, you need to remain aware of the global trends that will not only impact your internal operations, but how your clients will conduct business in the near future,” Moritz remarked when a student asked about the industry forecast in the coming decades. He continued, “PwC has invested heavily in artificial intelligence, machine learning, 3-D printing and other emerging technologies so that we will be able to leverage this progress and provide even more value that can transform our clients’ practices as well as the entire global community.”

Regarding career advice for students interested in accounting, Moritz recommended that students leverage feedback they receive from their peers and supervisors to improved their performance and learn from every experience in order to have a better understanding of the internal and external environments that shape how firms operate.

Dean Russell also provided her insight into the benefits of making a commitment to lifelong learning. “For both personal development and overall company performance, having individuals who can learn from one another and keep innovating in order to improve efficiency and create unique solutions will provide a benefit that is virtually unmatched in the long-term,” she said.
