Advertising Management

Room 1005

I have taught advertising management both at undergraduate and graduate levels at VSB.  My experiences include primarily academic research related to advertising (such as the impact of alcohol advertising on its consumption or media portrayals of minorities) but my past experiences include commercial media research and a faculty internship at a major advertising agency.  It is also important for me as a teacher to remain current with the industry by maintaining contacts with industry people, many of whom I invite to my advertising class as guest speakers.   Typically students tend to think of working in advertising agencies as their career path, but advertising can be also applied to the client side including marketers such as P&G or Johnson &Johnson as well as non-profit organizations.  As technology becomes increasingly important, the advertising industry seeks those who understand advertising AND technology at the same time,  I try to direct students to take advantage of this rising opportunity.
