Effective on February 16th, security enhancements are being made to vDesktop and the Villanova Gateway access to further protect your account and the Villanova Network. vDesktop provides access to a Windows 7 desktop or Villanova application via any device with an internet connection.  These enhancements include two-factor authentication from off campus connections to vDesktop and the Villanova Gateway.  For more information about vDesktop please click here.   

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of security to your accounts. The second factor you use to verify your identity is your phone or other mobile device, and will prevent anyone but you from logging in, even if they use your password.  Click Two-Factor for more information, including how to configure two-factor for Gmail. 

What happens from Off-Campus?

When you are accessing vDesktop or the gateway from off campus, you will be prompted to use two-factor authentication and will need to enroll into our Duo Authentication system.  This adds a second layer of authentication that requires you to use your smart phone.  Please see the following instructions to self-enroll into the system here
