Master’s in Cybersecurity: Degree Requirements

At Villanova, you can specialize in one of three areas within the Cybersecurity program: Systems, Policy, or Operations.

Completion of the degree requires 10 courses (30 credits) total:

  • Two required core courses

ECE 8476 - Cryptography & Netwk. Security

ECE 8484 - Cybersec. Threats and Defense

  • Four courses from the concentration areas
  • An additional four courses from the concentration areas and/or electives

Those students pursuing the thesis-option must include Independent Study and Research I & II courses among their electives.

Degree Plan

Graduate students must submit a degree plan by midterm of their first semester. Five-year students must submit a plan with their 5-year program application. Your initial plan, as well as any subsequent changes in the plan, must be approved by your advisor. Create your degree plan online.
