CAC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with IREA-CNR, Italy

The Center for Advanced Communications (CAC) and Istituto per il Rilevamento Elettromagnetico dell’Ambiente of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (IREA-CNR) in Napoli, Italy, signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in October 2013. The MOU provides a collaborative framework for the development of projects and programs in specific areas of mutual research interest. In the past, CAC and IREA-CNR researchers have collaborated on joint publications related to inverse scattering and sparse tomographic approaches for through-the-wall radar imaging. These publications appeared in several IEEE Transactions and Letters. Future initiatives for the two research groups will include multipath exploitation and compressive sensing for urban radar.

This is the CAC’s 11th MOU with an international academic institution. This past spring, MOUs were renewed with the University of Montenegro in Podgorica, Montenegro, and the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. These are two of the Center’s most active collaborations, along with France, Germany and Italy.

These international academic relationships have resulted in more than 70 papers over the last fifteen years.
