Dr. Robert Caverly Named 2013 IEEE Fellow

Robert Henry Caverly, PhD, Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Director of the Microwave Electromagnetics Laboratory, has been named an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Fellow. This distinction recognizes his contributions to modeling and design of radio frequency switching devices, which can be used to control the flow of energy between an antenna and both transmitters and receivers. The IEEE grade of Fellow is conferred on individuals with an outstanding record of accomplishments in any of the IEEE fields of interest. It is the highest grade of membership and is recognized by the technical community as a prestigious honor and an important career achievement.

Dr. Caverly has published one book and more than 100 journal and conference papers in the radio frequency communication device field, as well as other technical and educational areas. He is an associate editor of IEEE Microwave Magazine and serves on several editorial boards including IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, and the International Journal of Microwave Science and Technology.  Dr. Caverly was the 2012 co-chair of the IEEE Topical Conference on Power Amplifiers for Wireless and Radio Applications (PAWR), a position in which he will again serve for the 2013 conference.

The IEEE is the world’s largest professional association for the advancement of technology, with its goal being to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. Through its 400,000 members in 160 countries, the IEEE is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers, and telecommunications, to biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics.
