Ms. Branka Jokanovic, a research assistant in Villanova University’s Center for Advanced Communications (CAC) and a PhD student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has received a highly competitive travel grant to present at the IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) in Brisbane, Australia in April. Jokanovic’s paper, “Sparse and cross-term free time-frequency distribution based on Hermite functions,” is coauthored by her advisor, CAC Director Moeness Amin, PhD. The flagship conference of the IEEE Signal Processing Society, ICASSP typically accepts only 30-50 percent of submitted papers and is attended by more than 2,000 people from around the world.
