The American Society of Civil Engineers Philadelphia Section has named Villanova Engineering alumnus Nha Truong ’10 CE, ’12 MSCE, “Young Government Engineer of the Year.”  A former graduate research assistant with the Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership, Truong is employed with the Philadelphia Water Department where he is involved in the planning of capital improvement projects for flood risk mitigation.

Throughout his professional career, Truong has held several board positions with professional societies including the American Water Resources Association and ASCE Philadelphia. “I credit my participation in Villanova Engineering service learning trips with my drive to be involved with these industry groups,” he says. A “true blue” Villanovan, this year Truong will earn his MBA from Villanova’s School of Business.

When ASCE Philadelphia presents its 2017 awards in early May, Truong will be one of three Villanova alumni recipients. “Educator of the Year” will be presented to Frank Falcone ’70 CE, ’73 MSWREE, AP, PE, D.WRE, who has been with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for 43 years. Falcone currently serves as Director of Professional Development and Experiential Education for the College’s new Career Compass program. Being recognized as “Structural Engineer of the Year” is James J. Pezzotti ’85 CE, ’91 MSCE, a project manager and senior engineer at Pennoni Associates.

Drosdick Endowed Dean Gary A.
