Facilities

Several laboratories support the research projects.  

 

The Acoustics and Ultrasound Lab in CEER 305 supports the conduct of experiments that aid in proof of concept in ultrasound imaging, image analysis, and acoustic signal processing.  Facilities include a Polytec Doppler Vibrometer System, an Agilent Signal Analyzer, an Agilent 80 MHz Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator, and a National Instrument PXI-5105 100 MS/s Data Acquisition System.

Materials Science Laboratory

 

Materials Science Laboratory

The Materials Science Laboratory in CEER 003 is equipped with an optical microscope, high temperature furnaces, a fume hood, a plasma etcher, microhardness tester, and grinding and polishing machines for specimen preparation.

Materials Testing Laboratory

The Materials Testing Laboratory in CEER 003 is equipped with an Instron Tension/Torsion machine, an MTS servohydraulic tester, and a Tinius Olsen.

The High Resolution Microscopy (HRM) Laboratory is located in CEER 004.  It houses the Hitachi S-4800 high resolution SEM and the Agilent 5500 AFM.
