VUSP PA Stormwater Management
Municipal Workshop and Symposium

Hurricane Note: Our sympathies and prayers go out to all those in the path of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. We will be organizing charitable fundraising within the symposium.

It’s that time again!  We are reviewing abstracts, and planning the tours for the VUSP PA Stormwater Symposium 2017. It is hard to believe we have been hosting this symposium since 1998, and this year will be spectacular thanks to your efforts!  We are expecting 300+ attendees as we have for the past several years, and have more abstracts than ever. Here's what we have planned so far:

Wednesday: After a short talk by yours truly on what lessons we are learning from research and where we are going in the future. We will hear from the PaDEP Bureau of Clean Water. First, Lee Murphy, Chief of the MS4 Section will update us on Pennsylvania’s MS4 Pollutant Reduction Plans. Next Aneca Atkinson, Chief, NPDES Construction and E&S Control will speak to Chapter 102 Construction Stormwater.  Following close behind PaDEP will be Penndot. Elaine Elbich, PennDot portfolio manager for I-95, will discuss Penndot’s approach to stormwater for this project. The rest of the day will consist of breakout sessions, where we will hear from researchers, consultants, and the public sector, and of course the evening poster session and networking reception at the end of the day.

Thursday:  Marc Cammarata, Deputy Commissioner of Planning and Environmental Services at the Philadelphia Water Department will give us an overview and status update on the Green City Clean Waters Program. Then more concurrent sessions, including presentations from the PWD Office of Watersheds. And of course the tours!

Throughout the symposium, we will be providing breaks to allow you to interact with the vendors, other attendees, and presenters.

As in past years, the main track of the symposium and the workshop for non-engineers will be broadcast in real time over the internet.

The material presented is appropriate for crediting of PDH's pursuant to Pennsylvania's PE Act 25. A form will be included in the registration packet for crediting your attendance.
