GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). For more information about VA educational benefits please visit the official Veteran Affairs website at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.

The VA determines student eligibility to receive educational benefits.  Students must apply for benefits with the VA before their eligibility can be determined.

Certification depends upon your VA determined eligibility, enrollment status and program of study.  Veteran certifications are processed at Villanova within the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Continuing Studies, by one of our 2 School Certifying Officials (SCO).  SCO contact information is provided below.  Please notify the proper certifying official of any enrollment changes.

To check on the status of your application, remaining entitlement, or any other general questions, please contact the Department of Veteran Affairs educational hotline: 1-888-GI-BILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or submit a question electronically through Ask a QuestionVillanova SCOs cannot provide advisement or counseling related to Veteran benefits.

Villanova University participates in the Post 9/11 GI Bill® Yellow Ribbon program.

The Office of Financial Assistance at Villanova University seeks to ensure that students have equitable and fair access to our institutional funds. While we are compassionate to our military families and all they have sacrificed, it is important to understand that we do not exclude Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits from the financial aid packaging process. Thus, students who receive the Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits will have their institutional financial aid (Villanova sponsored need based Grant/Scholarships) evaluated based on the receipt of the Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits. To ensure early notice of any effect to the student’s financial aid award a copy of the COE (Certification of Eligibility) should be submitted every year as a part of the Villanova Financial Aid application process. Please note that the inclusion of Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits in our calculation of aid affects institutional aid only.  Federal and State financial aid is not affected by the Post 9/11 GI Bill benefit.

Note: You must still submit your COE to our VA School Certifying Official (SCO).
