About: Fun Run is a competitive, socially driven mobile application that adds motivation and fun to exercise by generating “flags” users must reach during their run, with each flag increasing his or her score.

2nd Place: Maestro

About: Maestro is a tablet application which uses sound recognition technology to minimize the difficulties and inaccuracies of physical sheet music. Features include turning digital pages, indicating incorrect passages played and synchronizing an entire ensemble for wide scale feedback.

3rd Place: Du Riz - Rice Huller 1000

About: Rice Huller 1000 removes the outer shell of rice grains before they are edible, and would be both a portable and inexpensive option for developing nations’ rice farmers.

  • “VUer’s Choice” Prize - $500, Awarded to the team with the best video submission as voted by the Villanova community
  • Halloran Social Venture Prize - $500, Recognizes the top social venture in the VSEC
  • Klingler Unitas Prize - $500, Recognizes the team that makes the greatest strides towards incorporating Villanova’s core value of Unitas through a cross-campus perspective in their mission and/or venture implementation plan

Note: Teams can place in the top 3 and still win categorical prizes for the opportunity to win more prize money.
