Matthew Belcher is a Principal in KPMG LLP’s New York Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity tax practices. Matthew specializes in partnership taxation, with an emphasis in the use of partnerships in mergers and acquisitions, and corporate financing and restructurings. Prior to joining KPMG LLP, Matthew was a member of Deloitte Tax LLP’s Washington National Tax office. He received his B.A. with honors from Albion College, his J.D. with honors from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Matthew has authored and co-authored articles that have appeared in a number of publications, including the Practicing Law Institute, the USC Law School Annual Institute on Federal Taxation, BNA Tax Management, the Journal of Pass-through Entities, and the ABA Tax Quarterly.
Matthew is admitted to practice in Michigan and is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association and the American Bar Association, and their respective Tax Sections.
