Every year, Villanova Law hosts a number of symposia and CLE programs. In addition, the Villanova Law Review, the Villanova Environmental Law Journal and the Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal each sponsor annual symposia and publish the papers submitted in those proceedings. Most of the symposia qualify for CLE credit. All of these events are open to the public. Upcoming programs and registration information will be listed below as they become available.
The 2016 Presidential campaign generated renewed interest in the need for Comprehensive Tax Reform. The President and Congress have indicated their desire to propose and pass comprehensive tax reform before the end of this year. The 2017 Villanova University Graduate Tax Program Tax Policy Symposium explored the Blueprint for Reform that began the process, and discussed additional plans that have been proposed.
This event brought together a cross section of business leaders—from tax and accounting to legal and government to renowned academics—to discuss the economic and tax policy issues surrounding the current tax reform proposals, as well as their economic impact.
The symposium took place on Thursday. June 1, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law (299 North Spring Mill Road, Villanova, PA).
This program was approved for 4.5 substantive CLE credits by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board and for 4.5 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) tax credits for Certified Public Accountants.
