VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova University Alumni Association (VUAA) has elected four new members to its Board of Directors, the governing body that establishes the overall strategic direction of the alumni association. Darla Henning Wolfe ’06 EMBA, Hezekiah Lewis ’99 ’02 CLAS, Alex Martins ’86 VSB, and Jerry Petry ’72 VSB, will join the Board to serve three-year terms representing the VUAA within the University community and provide alumni perspective to the Office of Alumni Relations. Additionally, Terence P. Delaney ’83 CLAS begins a two-year term as President of the Villanova Alumni Association, replacing immediate past president Tracy Setlock Brala ’90 VSB. Nancy Cawley Lane ’87 CLAS will serve as President Elect.

New VUAA Leadership and Board Members:
Terence P. Delaney, who began a two-year term as President of the VUAA in May 2016, retired from his position as Vice President at Gallagher Benefit Services in 2012. Delaney’s role at Gallagher Benefit Services included business development and account management. He previously worked for an employee benefits consulting firm, RSI, which he joined as partner in 1991. RSI merged with the Gallagher Benefits Services division of Arthur J. Gallagher in 2008. AJG is the fourth largest insurance brokerage firm in the world and is traded publically. Prior to joining RSI, Delaney worked at MetLife and served as regional director overseeing business development and account management operation in the Delaware Valley. He graduated from Villanova in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Delaney was a member of the Villanova track and field and cross country teams.
Nancy Cawley Lane, who will serve as President Elect of the VUAA, is president of Local Media Association—a trade association that serves more than 2,600 newspapers, TV stations, directory publishers, news sites and radio stations. LMA is focused on discovering new and sustainable digital business models that will allow local media companies to survive and thrive. Lane leads a week-long Innovation Mission each year with senior executives from all over North America visiting companies such as Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and more. She is the author of more than a dozen industry reports over the past two years on a wide variety of subjects along with a popular “Disruption in Media” blog. In addition, she is a sought-after speaker at media association events around the world. Lane graduated from Villanova in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Darla Henning Wolfe is principal and CEO of her recently-launched business, Sweat EquitE, LLC, a service company that matches experienced professionals to non-traditional work opportunities at start-ups and emerging businesses. Wolfe previously co-founded HyperdriveTV, a pay-per-view video streaming distribution platform for global independent film. Wolfe has more than 20 years of experience in information technology, manufacturing and entrepreneurship and has held senior level roles at Fortune 50 companies including DuPont, Rohm and Haas, and SAP America. She is on the Advisory Council and a corresponding donor for the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership, was a panelist at the 2016 Villanova Women in Technology event, and volunteers with the Bartley BriefCASE challenge. Wolfe earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Villanova in 2006 and is currently completing her Master’s in Cybersecurity Strategy and Information Management at The George Washington University. She graduated from Temple University with a Business Administration degree in Computer Science.
Hezekiah Lewis, an assistant professor in the Department of Communication at Villanova since 2007, also serves as President and CEO of Ekiah Productions. Lewis has directed and produced documentaries and films promoting social change and awareness that have received national and international awards. At Villanova, Lewis teaches courses in social justice documentary filmmaking, film analysis and media production in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Lewis attended Villanova on a football scholarship and was a three-year starter and co-captain. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts double major in Sociology and Communication. Following graduation, Lewis received a Presidential Fellowship to attend Villanova’s graduate school and earned a Master’s degree in Theatre in 2002. He went on to earn a Master’s of Fine Arts in Directing from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Alex Martins has served as CEO of the National Basketball Association’s Orlando Magic since 2011. Martins began his career with the Magic as director of publicity/media relations in 1989 and has since held various senior-level management positions, including president and chief operating officer. During his tenure as CEO, Martins oversaw a ticket sales, premium sales and corporate partnership effort which culminated in the most successful business year in the franchise’s history for the 2010-2011 season. He also previously served as the Chairman of the Board of the Magic Action Team Community Fund, which developed in to the Orlando Magic Youth Fund and has distributed nearly $16 million to local non-profit organizations. Martins currently serves as Chairman of the One Orlando Fund, which will distribute its proceeds to the victims and their families of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando. At Villanova, Martins is an active member of the Athletics Campaign Committee and President’s Club. Martins graduated from Villanova in 1986 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and later earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Jerry Petry retired from his role as Executive Vice President at NBC Universal in 2009 after 34 years with the Company. At NBC, he had key management positions overseeing all West Coast financial, production, distribution, and business operations. In 2004, he led the integration of the TV Group for the newly formed NBC Universal. Petry is former Chairman of the Television Academy Foundation and current Chairman of Many Mansions, a non-profit that owns and provides affordable housing and services. He served four years as a supply officer in the U.S. Navy prior to joining NBC. At Villanova, he was instrumental in launching “Villanova on Set”—a film, TV and entertainment industry immersion program for Villanova students in Los Angeles, and has been part of the Alumni Recruitment Network. Petry was also a member of the VSB Deans Advisory Council. He graduated from the Villanova School of Business in 1972 and has a MS in Finance from California State University Northridge, where he is on the faculty.
