Dr. Blunt appointed to APN committee of CGFNS

Elizabeth M. Blunt, PhD, RN, APRN-BC, assistant professor, has been appointed to the Professional Nurse Credentials and Standards Committee - Sub Committee on Advanced Practice Nursing for CGFNS International, formerly the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. 

The purpose of the committee is to identify current educational standards to guide CGFNS to evaluate the comparability of education, licensure and practice of foreign educated registered nurses who have received post graduate (baccalaureate) education outside the U.S., to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (nurse midwife, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist or nurse anesthetist) or in a nursing specialty by certification (critical care, perioperative, surgery, or oncology).

Dr. Blunt is an expert advanced practice nurse and educator. She is coordinator of the College's Nurse Practitioner Programs.
