Action Items for Graduate Students


Master Degree Candidates

If you are a Master Degree candidate, please note that you must initiate the process for receiving your Master's Degree. The steps below indicate the starting point for each particular college.

  • Business: Form available in the Graduate Programs Office in Bartley Hall. The form should be completed and returned the semester before you plan to graduate.
  • Nursing: Obtain the Graduate Application and instructions from the College of Nursing, Dean’s Office.
  • Liberal Arts & Sciences: Submit your Prospective Graduate Form online via myNOVA – enter “Prospective Graduate Form” in the search field and click on the resulting Prospective Graduate Form icon.
  • Engineering: Submit your Prospective Graduate Form online via myNOVA prior to registration for your final semester. Be sure to check the late January submission deadline.

☐ Check that academic credits fulfill requirements.

☐ Financial Matters - Students must meet all  financial obligations before their diploma and transcript can be released. Questions concerning your account may be directed to the Bursar's Office at (610) 519-4258.

☐ Order your cap and gown online and indicate how many tickets to the Friday University Ceremony you will need, as well as how many parking passes are needed.  (shipping costs apply when ordering online).  If you wish to pick up your cap and gown, tickets and parking passes on May 2 at the Graduation Fair (and avoid shipping costs), fill out the Graduation Fair Information Form by April 20, 2018. (If you missed the deadline, please come to the Graduation Fair on May 2 to get your cap and gown, you'll receive instructions there on obtaining your tickets and parking passes at a later date.)   

☐ Check your prospective graduation status via myNOVA - go to the Graduation Information channel on the Student tab.
