The Essentials of Six Sigma
This introductory course focuses on a basic understanding of the Six Sigma DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) improvement process and the non-statistical improvement tools involved. Successful completion prepares students to participate in the Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Enterprise courses. Completion of Essentials of Six Sigma enables students to utilize basic process improvement tools in any industry.
Six Sigma Green Belt
Six Sigma Green Belt fosters an in-depth understanding of the five phases of the Six Sigma DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) improvement process and the associated improvement tools, statistical and non-statistical. Students will be required to complete a Six Sigma Green Belt level improvement project during the course. Successful completion enables students to lead Six Sigma Green Belt level improvement projects in any industry.
Note: Students in Green Belt must have taken a statistics course during their education.
The fourth course in the Six Sigma program, Lean Enterprise fosters an in-depth understanding of the concept of "lean," which means creating more value for customers with fewer resources. A lean organization understands customer value and focuses its key processes to continuously increase it. The ultimate goal is to provide perfect value to the customer through a perfect value creation process that has zero waste. Students will be required to complete a Lean Enterprise improvement project during the course. Successful completion of this course will result in a Lean Enterprise Certificate and enables students to lead Lean Enterprise improvement projects in any industry.
