Faculty Positions
Villanova University seeks to recruit to its faculty the highest quality teacher-scholars who demonstrate unambiguous promise of furthering the University’s mission and values. Recruitment to fill vacant lines begins with the department and the Dean, who receive authorization from the Provost.
The department normally conducts the search – including rigorous efforts to recruit a diverse faculty especially able to contribute to the University’s mission and values -- and makes its recommendation to the Dean, who, in turn, recommends (via the Affirmative Action Office) to the Provost the appointment of a candidate. The Provost then extends the offer of employment.
