MBA Studies in International Business in Australia

This program for MBA students includes an introduction to international trade and finance in Australia. Lectures will be given by faculty from the University of New South Wales. Through site visits to manufacturing facilities, financial service firms, and government agencies, students are introduced to macroeconomics, international trade policy and strategy, and finance in Australia.

Course Offering

MBA 8523: International Business Studies - 3 credits
Lectures include the following topics: Introduction to Finance in Australia, Trade Policies and Strategies, and the U.S.-Australia Free Trade Agreement.

*The Office of Education Abroad will register you for two courses. The first will be VAB8000 which is merely a placeholder which initiates billing and allows us to track MBA students studying abroad. The second registration will be for MBA8523. You do not have to worry abour registering for this course.

Additional Academic Requirements

Open to students enrolled in the Villanova University MBA program only.

Housing

Students will reside in shared apartment accommodations in Sydney and Melbourne. All breakfasts are included along with a few select lunches and dinners. All other meals are the responsibility of the student.

Excursions

Additional activities planned for the students include:  a full day trip to the Blue Mountains with an Aboriginal tour guide, a cruise of Sydney Harbor, a performance at the Sydney Opera House, a day trip to the Southern Highlands wine region, a full day along the Great Ocean Road in Melbourne, and a trip to Phillip Island, home to the world famous Penguin Parade.

Insurance

Finances

Applications are due September 19, 2018

After deadline, inquire about the availability of participation in the program via email to: Dr. Michelle Casario; the non-refundable commitment fee of $450 is due within two weeks of receipt of acceptance letter. VU student account will be invoiced the balance of the program on September 24, 2017; final payment due no later than October 24, 2017.

A detailed breakdown of program expenses will be available, late-August.

Includes tuition, orientation, housing during program and all excursions, breakfast, on-site transportation and transfers. Airfare not included. Dr. Casario has arranged an optional, though highly encouraged, group flight. Details on the flight will be sent from Dr. Casario to program participants in late-September.
