Senior English major Elizabeth Eby, recieved a VURF travel grant to present her research at the International Seminar on Amplifying Student Voice and Partnership in July 2017.
On her experience:
I had a wonderful experience at the International Seminar on Amplifying Student Voice and Partnership in Burlington, Vermont. It was inspiring to be surrounded by researchers and practitioners who share my passion for empowering students to effect change in their schools and greater communities. Throughout the conference, I was able to present my ongoing research on the implementation of student voice programs in high schools. The researchers, practitioners, and students in attendance offered great insights and feedback in response to my work, and I feel validated and excited to continue my research this summer. There were many unique opportunities to engage in dialogue with other attendees at this seminar-style conference, and I loved learning about other research projects and programs that currently promote student voice throughout the world. In addition to opportunities for conversation and collaboration, I was able to listen to presentations and keynotes by experts in related fields. I am grateful to have had this chance to share my work, network, and learn from others. Thank you to CRF for making this experience possible!
