Honors Year in Review

As many know, Honors is not just an academic department… it is a community!

Of course, this community would not be possible without the Honors events each year. Here is a look at some of the awesome events hosted by Honors during the 2015-2016 school year!   

Fall 2015:

  • Philadelphia Zoo Trip
  • Honors Dorm Candy Distribution- Caughlin Hall
  • Sherlock Holmes and Ice Cream Marathon
  • St. Frances of Assisi Day- students brough photos of their pets to a receive a Bless of the Animals by Fr. Frances Caponi
  • Super Smash Brothers Competition
  • Harry Potter Day- This magicial event included a Honeydukes exposition, wand-making with Ollivander, a Harry Potter Movie Marathon, and ButterBeer from the Three Broomsticks. Organized by Headmasters Ryan Zalla & Samuel Schafer 
  • Halloween Pumpkin Decorating
  • Dracula Marathon Reading- snacks included Count Chocula, Booberry, and Frankenberry Cereal!
  • Faculty Student Luncheon
  • Holiday Party/Honors Secret Santa

Spring 2016:

  • BAE Your Roommate- When a student and their roommate RSVP'd to this event, they could then choose their "dates" for each other for the perfect set-up! This semi-formal also featured food and music
  • NCAA Game Watch- The Honors Lounge hosted a game watch of the Nova vs. UNC ASheville game, complete with pizza and snacks!
  • Honors Hall Council Basketball Chocolate- What better way to celebrate Nova making it to the Final Four? (See photo abobe!)
  • End of Semester Party- featuring food from Chick-Fil-A!
  • Senior Brunch Recognition Ceremony
