Residence Hall Fast Facts

• Villanova houses approximately 4,400 undergraduate students in 26 on-campus residence halls located throughout all areas of campus – Main, South, and West Campus. There are 18 traditional residence halls and 8 apartment-style halls that are reserved for upper-class students.

• Freshman residence halls are co-educational and range in size from 50 to 520 residents.

Freshman students may be housed in halls on all areas of campus. Most first-year students are normally housed in double or converted triple rooms in Caughlin, Good Counsel, Katharine, McGuire, Moriarty, O’Dwyer, St. Monica, and Stanford Halls. When housing demand exceeds space in traditional freshman halls, students may also be housed, in Delurey, Fedigan, St. Mary’s or Simpson Halls.

Room Dimensions
Rooms vary in size and configuration depending on the specific hall.  Follow this link for more information about a specific residence hall.

Air Conditioning
Alumni Hall, Austin Hall, Fedigan Hall, Sullivan Hall, Sheehan Hall, South Campus Residence Halls and West Campus Residence Halls are equipped with air conditioning.  Corr, Delurey, Moriarty, O'Dwyer, St. Rita's and Simpson Halls do not have air conditioning. For fire safety reasons, students may not bring individual room or window air conditioners to the residence halls. Fans are permitted and encouraged.

Cars on Campus
Freshman residents and Sophomore residents are not eligible for on-campus parking privileges. All inquiries about parking should be directed to the Department of Public Safety, Parking Division, (610) 519-6990.

Facilities Concerns
If there is a facilities or maintenance concern in the residence halls, students can follow this link to submit a service request directly to Facilities Management.  In the event of a facilities emergency, such as flooding, electrical concerns or lack of heat, students should call:

Residence Hall Resources
Students with problems or questions often turn to their Resident Assistants (RA) for help.  Resident Assistants are students who live in the residence halls and have been specially trained to provide appropriate assistance to other residents.  Also, Residence Life staff members are available to help you by providing information, advice, counsel, referral or assistance in emergencies.  For help with any other problems that may arise, visit the Student Life web site and check out the many other support services Villanova offers the community.

Learning Communities
Application and admisssion to residential learning communities are overseen by the Office for Student Life. Applications will be available on May 1 in conjunction with the University Housing Contract available at
