Statement of Responsibility

By using the GoNOVA system (formerly eRecruiting/Experience) you agree to conform to all ethical and professional practices and to assume personal responsibility throughout the employment process. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your account.

Students:

  • Provide accurate information on majors, minors, GPA, and employment eligibility.
  • Provide current and reliable contact information for Career Services (CSO) and employers.
  • Respond appropriately to communication from CSO and employers.
  • Adhere to schedules.
  • Thoroughly research organizations prior to interviewing and accepting positions.
  • Notify Career Services immediately if you encounter questionable practices or irregularities in the employment process.
  • Notify Career Services upon acceptance of a job offer by using this Acceptance offer form.
  • Consider acceptance of employment as a commitment to that employer. Reneging an acceptance is not condoned by CSO and will result in loss of service to you. 

Employers:

  • Refrain from any practice that improperly influences and affects job acceptances. i.e. undue time pressures, encouragement of revocation of another acceptance.
  • Supply accurate information about your organization and employment opportunities.
  • Honor all offers of employment to candidates.
  • Strive to communicate with candidates and CSO within the agreed upon time frame.
  • Serving alcohol should not be part of the recruitment process.
  • Maintain equal employment opportunity (EEO) compliance and follow affirmative action principles in recruiting activities.
  • Employment professionals must advise CSO of any test conducted on campus. They must advise students of the type and purpose of any test that is required in the recruitment process and to whom the test results will be disclosed.

Career Services Office:

  • Maintain a recruitment process that is fair and equitable to candidates and employing organizations.
  • The staff will, without imposing personal values or bias, assist individuals in developing a career plan.
  • Career Services staff will provide students with information on a range of career opportunities and types of employing organizations. They will inform students of the means and resources to gain access to information which may facilitate their decisions about an employing organization.
  • Career Services staff will provide employing organizations with accurate information about Villanova University and its students and about the policies and services of the Career Services Office.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
