How can I find a summer job or internship?
All career related jobs or internships are posted on our website through
GoNOVA (formerly eRecruiting/Experiene).
Check with your college internship office for additional listings or if
you wish to receive academic credit.

When can I start applying for internships?
Internships are posted throughout the year. You may apply as soon as the
job is posted, provided you are eligible for the position.

When are walk-in hours?
Walk-in Hours:1 – 3 pm Monday through Friday. These short visits with a
career counselor or career assistant are used to review a resume or to ask
quick questions.

Is there a test that will tell me what to major
in?
The Strong Interest Inventory is administered to help students decide on
their major or figure out how to apply their major to career choices. An
appointment is necessary to take the Inventory.

Why must I submit my credentials request ahead
of time?
There are periods of time when demand for Credential services peaks, usually
at the end of each semester. In order to ensure precise processing of your
request, Career Services requires 2 – 7 days to process the request.

All interviews take place in Corr Hall unless you are informed otherwise.

How long should I wait after an interview to
contact a company regarding their decisions?
Depending what was said at the conclusion of your interview, the normal
amount of time would be at least two weeks.

When is the best time of the day to interview?
The best time to interview is when you feel your best. If you are a “morning
person” schedule in the morning.

Why do I have to dress for a Practice Interview?
Dressing professionally for a practice interview will put you in the right
frame of mind and get you ready for the “real thing”. First impressions
are extremely important so your attire will also be discussed. Check out

Why is my account locked?
Accounts are locked because of failure to sign up for an interview; failure
to show up for an interview or any unethical actions. Please see
CSO’s
policies.

Why does the system say I’m not qualified
to apply for a position?
Employers put certain qualifiers in their job descriptions. There is probably
something in your academic profile (e.g. major, year of graduation) that
does not agree with the requirements.

When can I withdraw my application for
an on-campus visit with a company?
A student can withdraw their application ONLY before the application deadline.
Once the deadline has passed, you are obligated, if you are selected to
interview, to sign up for an interview time. Once you have
signed up for
a time you
must show up for their interview. Students who do not sign up
or show up for their interview will lose their recruiting privileges. Failure
to attend a scheduled interview requires a letter of apology to the company
with a copy to betty.jane.cornell@villanova.edu

Why is it wrong to renege on an offer?
Consider acceptance of employment as a commitment to that employer. Reneging is not condoned by CSO. It reflects poorly on Villanova and could result in the employer severing its relationship with the university and a loss of service to you.
