On Campus Recruiting Information

On Campus Recruiting Program (OCR), your convenient link to employers interviewing on campus for full-time and summer professional jobs. Villanova seniors and graduate students graduating this year can easily submit resumes to employers through their GoNOVA account (formerly eRecruiting/Experience). There are also summer opportunities offered through OCR for qualified sophomores and juniors.

Publish a resume to at least one resume book to be fully active in the system. This enables employers to search online for candidates who match their search criteria for opportunities within their organization.

The majority of the employers who participate in this program project a certain number of hires for the current year and will come to campus during the Fall or Spring semester. It is extremely important to be aware of application deadlines so you do not miss any opportunities. First time users: Complete your profile and upload a resume. For additional help with your resume, see the Resume Guidelines. and Resume Samples Have your resume critiqued by a career counselor. Walk-in hours are Monday thru Friday, 1 - 3 pm in Corr Hall.

Interview Schedules

Once you log into your account, Click on "Interview Schedules" to view the companies interviewing on campus. If interested and qualify after reading the job description, scroll down to apply and choose the resume you wish to send. The system notifies you if you have been selected to interview. You then sign-up through "applications" within one business day of being notified.
If you apply for this position and are selected to interview you must sign up for an interview time!

Applications Section

The Applications section maintains lists of jobs and companies where resumes have been sent. It also informs and allows selected students to sign up for an interview time. The status is displayed in the Employer Decision column. Once the sign-up date is active, selected students will see a red exclamation point next to the company. Click on details to select an available interview time. Typically interviews are for 30 minutes, but some employers request 45 - 60 minute interviews.

Our Policies

Students who wish to participate in the OCR Program must know that when they are selected to interview they must sign up for an interview time. Once they have signed up for a time they must show up for their interview. Students who do not sign up or show up for their interview will lose their recruiting privileges. Failure to attend a scheduled interview requires a letter of apology to the company with a copy to betty.jane.cornell@villanova.edu.

Information Sessions

As part of the recruiting process some employers will sponsor Information Sessions. These pre-recruiting events are a valuable resource for students wanting to learn more about an organization, its people, culture, career paths and opportunities. Open Sessions are generally held before the company's application deadline and Closed Sessions are held the evening before their scheduled interviews. These can be found in the events section of your account. Information Session attire should be business casual unless otherwise noted.

Interview

  • Do your homework before interviewing. Read company literature and visit their website. RSVP and attend any information session a company conducts.
  • Polish your interviewing skills. Meet with a career counselor or schedule a videotaped mock interview. Read the Interviewing Guidelines for more tips on making the most of your interview.
  • Interview Day. Arrive in Corr Hall lobby 10 minutes before scheduled interview. Place a check next to your name on the posted appropriate schedule. Have a seat until the interviewer greets you. Attire for interviews should always be business suits.
  • Second interviews. These are usually held off campus and arranged between the interviewer and candidate. Once a job offer has been accepted, submit the Job Offer Form and remove your resume from the Resume Books.
