FOCUS

FOCUS is a self-paced, online career and education planning tool for use by college students. It will enable you to self-assess your career relevant personal qualities and explore career fields and major areas of study that are most compatible with your assessment results. Students who use FOCUS make better decisions about their goals and plans and learn how to self-manage their careers. Use FOCUS to help you - Choose or change your major and also to verify your preferences or early choice of a career field.

Focus-2 is only available to Villanova students and alumni.

OneWire

OneWire is a Career Management Tool you can use to manage your career for life. Unlike old-fashioned job boards, OneWire uses a two-step process to ensure that you are matched only with those opportunities that precisely meet your goals and experiences:

  1. Create Your Profile. Using our proprietary classification system, quickly and easily create a faceted, detailed profile that includes your work experiences, education, and interests.
  2. Get Matched. OneWire's patent-pending algorithms use the structured data in your profile to accurately match you with opportunities at finance firms.

VSB International Internship Guide
VSB’s International Internship Guide is intended to provide students with up to date information about Fortune 500 companies, located in the U.S., which offer business internship opportunities that involve international exposure AND those that offer internships abroad. Each company profile lists thirteen separate categories to detail how students can effectively navigate their internship search. This directory was compiled under the guidance and generous contribution of VSB Center for Global Leadership advisory board member, Ronald Cruse (VU ‘77), CEO of Logenix International, LLC. Information included in the guide was collected during the summer of 2010. You must be logged in at a Villanova Student to see the link.

Going Global Career and Employment Resources

Going Global career and employment resources include world-wide job openings, internship listings, industry profiles and country-specific career information. More than 30,000 pages of constantly-updated content is included on topics such as: work permit/visa regulations, resume writing guidelines and examples, employment trends, salary ranges, networking groups, cultural/interviewing advice, corporate profiles and worldwide job listings.

You can also create a personal account where you will be able to bookmark pages and make notes, for a personalized tool. To access your personal account, click on the Sign into Personal Account button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. You can also set any page in the collection as your default page by clicking on Set as default page in the bottom left-hand corner of the page. When you log in, you will be returned immediately to your selected default page.

Reference USA

Directory with US private and public company reports. Also includes household data. One source accessible by selecting "international businesses" provides international company, industry (Datamonitor, Freedonia, BMI) and executive reports. Industry financial norms from RMA and trade and business news.

Bartley Library

The purpose of the Bartley Business Information Center is to provide students, faculty, and staff of the Villanova School of Business with access to the rapidly changing world of information. While most of the services are available via the Internet, the Bartley Business Information Center is also a physical location within Bartley Hall. Staffed by the Business Liaison Team from Falvey Memorial Library, the BBiC also provides person to person reference and consultative services to students and faculty. Walk in meetings are welcome and appointments are available as well.

CareerShift – job hunting & career management solutions

CareerShift provides an easy-to-use, approach for cracking the “hidden job market” and for managing your job hunt all in one place. You’ll be able to search for jobs and save your searches, find and save a list of contacts, create resumes and cover letters, and put them together in a targeted e-mail or postal mail campaigns. InterviewStream

InterviewStream is a customizable web based practice interview tool that helps candidates gain confidence by better knowing and preparing themselves for interviews. Students can conduct self-assessments or share their answers with a counselor for more personalized feedback.
