Villanova University is pleased to offer three unique non-credit educational programs
for Human Resources professionals. For over 20 years, Villanova University has met the
needs of HR professionals in various stages of their careers - from those just entering the
field to experienced professionals required to make strategic management decisions for their
organizations to those involved in HR decisions at the international level.
Villanova has built the region's premier center of excellence for Human Resource study and
certification. In May 2009 the Society of Human Resources Management recognized Villanova
as one of the top 10 schools in the country offering the SHRM Learning System® Course, and our Spring 2009 pass rate exceeded the national
average. Graduate courses for credit are available through the Human Resource Development
Graduate Program.
The HR Certification Institute Body of Knowledge will undergo a
major update in 2011. Their eligibility requirements for certification will also change in 2011.
Now is the time to earn your certification!Certificate in Professional Human Resource Management
Gain a comprehensive overview of human resources, including all six functional
areas of human resource management. Prepare for the PHR and SPHR certification

NEW! Global Learning System® Certification Prep Course
HR professionals earning an HR Certification Institute’s Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®)
certification will be prepared to assume responsibilities beyond U.S. regulations – and possess the

The Essentials of Human Resource Management
An introductory course in human resource management is offered in cooperation
with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). This course should assist
line managers and supervisors to develop basic human resource skills needed to
manage employees effectively and to introduce human resource administrative
staff and new professionals to the fundamentals of the field. (More

Professional Seminars in Graduate HR Development
Continuing Studies offers to Human Resources Professionals who are enrolled in the
PHR/SPHR/GPHR program an opportunity to add depth to their HR experience through weekend
courses in the HRD Graduate Program. This is an chance to learn more in-depth on key issues
that impact HR professionals. Courses are offered on Friday Nights and Saturdays.
