Certificate in Human Resources Management

To provide human resource professionals with new tools for successful performance.
Villanova University, offers a 13 week course utilizing the 2008 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) Learning System.  Offered in full partnership with SHRM and various local SHRM chapters, the course can be taken to prepare for the Professional in Human Resource (PHR®) or the Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR ®) examination, for professional development, or to earn Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI ®) recertification credit hours.

About the Program

The course also helps prepare participants for the Human Resource Certification Institute's (HRCI) national examination for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive the certificate in Professional Human Resource Management from Villanova University, along with 3.9 Continuing Education Units. For those taking the course for recertification purposes, successful completion will result in the awarding of 39 HRCI credit hours.

Certification Examination Eligibility Requirements

Fall 2008 HRCI Test Dates 
Early Registration Deadline - 10/10/08; Late Registration Deadline - 11/14/08;  HRCI Test Window - 12/1/08 - 1/31/09

According to HRCI, candidates must have two years of HR exempt-level experience to qualify to take either the PHR/SPHR exam. You can sit for these classes without the two years of experience, but will not be eligible to sit for the certification exam. Also, students and recent graduates who are within twelve months of graduating from a bachelor's or master's degree program are welcome to take the PHR or GPHR exam in the student/recent graduate category. There is no single course of study that guarantees success on the HRCI examinations, but thousands of individuals have used the SHRM Learning System to study for the exams.

Fees for all classes, except Saturday classes:

Fees for SHRM members are $1315, and $1350 for non-members. Registration includes all required readings, workbooks, CD-ROM, access to the online resource center, and mastery tests.

Fees for Saturday classes only:
Fees for SHRM members are $1635, and $1670 for non-members. Registration includes all required readings, workbooks, CD-ROM, access to the online resource center, mastery tests, along with continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments.

or registration form can be printed and sent by fax or mail.

Billing:
Students and authorized users are able to view billing statements and make secured payments electronically. You can also print official invoices for self and employer use. Once you receive your confirmation and VU ID #, you may log onto E-Bill to view/pay your bill electronically. Bills are updated the 1st and 15th of every month.

Payment:
Payments are due no later than the first day of class. This requirement applies to all students, including those who register too late to receive a bill. Please TERMS of BILLING on registration page.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be in writing and received by the Office of Continuing Studies before the first class. No refunds are granted once the class begins.
