Certificate in Human Resources Management

To provide human resource professionals with new tools for successful performance.
Villanova University, offers a 13 week course utilizing the 2009 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM®) Learning System.  Offered in full partnership with SHRM and various local SHRM chapters, the course can be taken to prepare for the Professional in Human Resource (PHR®) or the Senior Professional in Human Resource (SPHR) examination, for professional development, or to earn HR recertification credit hours.

About the Program

The course also helps prepare participants for the HR Certification Institute's national examination for the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive the certificate in Professional Human Resource Management from Villanova University, along with 3.5 Continuing Education Units. For those taking the course for recertification purposes, successful completion will result in the awarding of 35 HR recertification credit hours.

According to the HR Certification Institute, candidates must have at least two years of HR exempt-level experience to qualify to take either the PHR/SPHR exam. You may take Villanova University's course without the two years of experience, yet you will not be eligible to sit for the certification exam.  Also, students and recent graduates who are within twelve months of graduating from a bachelor's or master's degree program are welcome to take the PHR or GPHR exam in the student/recent graduate category. There is no single course of study that guarantees success on the HR Certification Institute examinations, but thousands of individuals have used the SHRM Learning System to study for the exams.

Course Fees, Billing/Payments, Registration and Cancellation Policy

Fees for all classes, except Saturday classes:

Fees for SHRM National members are $1315, and $1350 for non-members. Registration includes all required readings, workbooks, SPHR Preparation Book, access to the online resource center, and mastery tests.

Fees for Saturday classes only:
Fees for SHRM National members are $1635, and $1670 for non-members. Registration includes all required readings, workbooks, SPHR Preparation Book, access to the online resource center, mastery tests, along with continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshments.

You may Register Here
or registration form can be printed and sent by fax or mail.

Billing:
Students and authorized users are able to view billing statements and make secured payments electronically. You can also print official invoices for self and employer use. Once you receive your confirmation and VU ID #, you may log onto V-Bill to view/pay your bill electronically. Bills are updated the 1st, 10th and 20th of every month.

Payment:
Payments are due no later than the first day of class. This requirement applies to all students, including those who register too late to receive a bill. Please TERMS of BILLING on registration page.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be in writing and received by the Office of Continuing Studies before the first class. No refunds are granted once the class begins.
