Non-Credit/Certificate Programs

The Department of Continuing Studies has built professional programs upon the firm foundation of the University's tradition of excellence and uses the standards of professional associations as the blueprint. These courses are designed to help you learn the best practices from professionals who are subject matter experts and who work in the field.

One of the most popular programs, the Certificate in Professional Human Resource Management is offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resource Management to prepare HR Professionals for the PHR and SPHR certification exams. Villanova is the nation’s oldest and largest provider of this program leading to the addition of a new SHRM sponsored program, The Essentials of HR Management. This course should assist line managers and supervisors to develop basic human resource skills needed to manage employees.

Our certificate programs in Project Management have expanded greatly in response to the demand to help managers learn how to operate more competitively. These programs are offered in cooperation with Project Management Institute (PMI) and include Foundations in Project Management, PMP Certification Review, and the Masters Certificate in Project Management Practices. A new program in Supply Chain Management is offered to help prepare professionals for the Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Exam.

Other non-credit programs include the American Bar Association approved Paralegal program that is well recognized throughout the region. Students can choose either day or evening programs. Accounting and financial professionals may want to consider the AFP Learning System-Certified Treasury Professional Exam Prep, the Institute of Management Accountants, CMA Learning System-Certified Management Accountant Exam Prep, and the Institute of Internal Auditors, CIA Exam Prep courses.

To meet changing societal needs, specialized certificate programs have been developed including Alcohol and Drug Counseling, English as a Second Language and Fundraising.

These programs described above are offered on the Villanova campus, at the magnificent Villanova Conference Center, and at other convenient locations throughout southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey. They can also be offered at corporate sites.
