Continuing education mandatory for Pennsylvania RN relicensure
In June 2006, Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell signed the mandatory relicensure bill. So Pennsylvania now joins New Jersey as one of the newest states to require continuing education (CE) in order to renew a nursing license. Pennsylvania will stipulate 30 hours each 2-year renewal period. Advanced practice nurses must fulfill other requirements related to their licenses. Other states in the region of Villanova University where CE is mandatory include Delaware, Massachusetts and Ohio.

The College of Nursing offers contact hours through its conferences, courses and certificate programs.

In 2004, Villanova University College of Nursing celebrated the 25th anniversary of providing quality continuing education in nursing and health care. Since its inception in 1979, the program has offered non-credit professional development courses, educating more than 25,000 nurses and related health care professionals.

Workshops, regional and national conferences, seminars, certificates and customized on-site programs are what makes Villanova's ever-growing Continuing Education program superior.
