this page. Please note that this list of funding is by no means complete. There
exists an immense amount of resources available to those that voluntarily seek them.

Center
for Undergraduate Research and Fellowship Within this page is an
excellent list of scholarship opportunities for study abroad and beyond!
CURF is a wonderful and worthwhile site to explore and also a great office
to visit! Meet with Jane Morris or Hanna Lee in the Center for Undergraduate
Research and Fellowship, Garey Hall.
- Ackerman Scholarship: Approximately $2700 in funding to a student
studying abroad in a non-traditional country.
- The
Connelly-Delouvrier Scholarship: A Villanova University sponsored scholarship
designed to provide financial support for one semester of study abroad for a
select group of academically talented students. The program is open to students
taking courses in the Honors Program, whether or not they are pursuing a formal
Honors degree, and to students who are Presidential Scholarship recipients.

VSB Center for Global Leadership: Provides financial support for VSB
students engaged in a variety of international business activities,
including study abroad.
Program Provider Scholarship Opportunities

Arcadia University-Center for Education Abroad: Arcadia University-Center
for Education Abroad: The Center for Education Abroad has one of the most extensive
scholarship programs of any study abroad organization. Every year Arcadia distributes
hundreds of need-based scholarships ranging between $500 and $2,000 for a full-year,
semester or term.
- Boston University: Last year, Boston University International Programs awarded
grants and scholarships to 190 students, helping to make their summer, semester,
or year abroad possible. You may qualify, too!
- Butler University-Institute for Study Abroad: IFSA-Butler offers scholarships
and travel grants to students with demonstrated financial need.

CIEE-Council on International Educational Experiences Scholarships: For
many students, a study abroad experience is only possible with financial assistance.
Each year CIEE awards scholarships and grants to students who plan to study
overseas. Full details of the five different scholarships can be found are described
within this link. Please read the eligibility criteria and the application procedures
for each scholarship carefully.
- DIS-Denmark's International Studies Program: The DIS Board has allocated
scholarship funds for students who otherwise could not afford to study in Denmark.
Villanova University students interested in studying in the Fall semester are
eligible for additional scholarships.

IES-Institute for the International Education of Students: IES believes
that financial limitations should not prevent a student from participating in
an IES program. For this reason, each year IES commits over $2.15 million to its
financial aid programs for students attending IES programs.

SIT-School for International Training: About one-third of those who seek
scholarships from SIT Study Abroad receive financial assistance to participate
in SIT's programs. Awards are made on consideration of both merit and need.
- Syracuse University Study
Abroad: SU Abroad is committed to making study abroad a reality for
students from a variety of backgrounds. We offer a number of need- and
merit-based grants and scholarships, as well as special incentives, for
students participating in SU Abroad programs. Awards are made on a
consideration of both merit and need. VU students are not allowed to
participate on Option 1 of SU Abroad programs.

Freeman Asia
- Funding for study abroad in Asian nations from the people who
brought you the Fulbright. Students with financial need who are planning to
study for between eight weeks and one year are eligible. The web site also provides
comprehensive information about Asian education and funding in general.
Japanese Bridging Scholarships
- Funds semester or year long study in Japan in
any discipline; includes stipend. No knowledge of Japanese language required.

Killiam Fellowships
Program
- Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union
International and Research Exchange Board (IREX): IREX promotes scholarly exchange
between the United States and the nations of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet
Union.
- Germany - DAAD Undergraduate Awards: Funds awarded to highly qualified undergraduate students
for study abroad tuition, university language or summer courses, senior thesis
research, and/or internships in the Federal Republic of Germany. Length of stay
may range from a few weeks to an entire academic year.
- Ireland -
The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick: The friendly Sons of St. Patrick was
created in 1771 and is dedicated to promoting good will and friendship
between the peoples of the United States and Ireland.
- Scotland - St. Andrew's Society of Philadelphia Scholarship: $15,000 for full year of study
abroad in Scotland at any of the following Universities: St. Andrews, Edinburgh,
Aberdeen, and Glasgow.

General Scholarship Information

NAFSA: Association of International Educators: Financial Aid resources for
undergraduate study abroad.
- Frank Huntington Beebe Fellowship:
The purpose of the Fund is to provide fellowships for gifted young
musicians, generally performers and composers in classical disciplines, who
wish to pursue advanced music study and performance abroad, usually in
Europe.
- Gilman International Scholarships: Provides up to $5000 for study abroad
in any nation. Priority given to students who receive Federal Pell Grants.
*Summer 2011 scholarship available!
- Institute of International Education: Sorts scholarship money by study abroad
location.
- Institute for International Public Policy: Undergraduate funding for study
abroad summer institute, language immersion programs, and internships. Money
for master's study of international affairs available as well. Open to sophomore
under-represented students with a GPA of at least 3.2.
- National Italian American Foundation Scholarship
- NSEP-National Security Education Program is guided by a mission that seeks
to lead in development of the national capacity to educate U.S. citizens, understand
foreign cultures, strengthen U.S. economic competitiveness, and enhance international
cooperation and security. NSEP awards will range from full scholarships (covering
tuition and other program costs, round-trip airfare on a U.S. flag carrier,
health insurance, and local transportation) to minimum awards of $2,500 for
summer, $4,000 for a semester or $6,000 for an academic year.

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships: Various scholarships for foreign study
and foreign travel. The three major scholarships programs are: 1) full funding
for academic year abroad, 2) full funding for 2-3 year degree programs abroad,
and 3) full funding for foreign language study abroad.
- Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant: Open to students who have a cumulative grade point average of a least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students must also have completed a minimum of 56 credit hours but no more than 90 credits hours on their home campus. Each year Phi Kappa Phi awards 38 Study Abroad grants of $1000 each.
- Fund for
Education Abroad: FEA is committed to increasing the opportunities for
dedicated American students to participate in high-quality, rigorous
education abroad programs by reducing financial restrictions through the
provision of grants and scholarships.
- Las Dos Chicas
Scholarship: Provides financial scholarships for college students
majoring in global studies, foreign languages, or a teaching certificate in
foreign languages.

Diversity Abroad:
Applicants must be
full-time undergraduates at a university or community college based in the
United States. Students must participate in a study abroad program offered
by a
DiversityAbroad.com partner organization. Economically
disadvantaged students, African-American, Asian-American, Hispanic/Latino,
Multiracial/ethnic or Native-American undergraduate students as well as
student who study in non traditional locations (Outside western Europe &
Australia ) are strongly encouraged to apply.
