Prospective Students and Parents

As a student with a disability, students planning to enter higher education need to be well informed about changes in their rights and responsibilities. A student who is well informed will be able to make the most appropriate decision about their choice of program. Prospective students are encouraged to contact or visit Learning Support Services during their junior or senior year of high school in order to learn more about services available at the college level.

Provisions for academic accommodation differ between K through 12 and postsecondary education. The responsibilities of the postsecondary schools are significantly different from those of school districts. There is also a difference in the level of responsibility for the student with the disability.

A student with a disability is encouraged to read all the information provided in this web site in order to better understand the policies and procedures regarding services. Please feel free to contact Learning Support Services with your questions.
