Villanova's Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree offers three distinct
majors from which you may choose:
NEW! Minor available in
Business, Leadership Studies
and Information Systems.
You can complete the program at your own pace, or you can utilize the
FastForward Track
which allows you to complete your BIS degree in as little as three years (when
entering with 60 credits).
The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) was created to meet the needs
of the part-time adult student while providing "real word" learning to prepare you
for the challenges in today's society and today's workplace. The University recognizes
that the adult learner brings life and work experiences to the classroom that presents
a different dynamic than with traditional age students.
NEW! Ask about our combined
Bachelor-Master's Program in Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) and Human Resource Development (M.S.).
The BIS degree does vary somewhat from the Bachelor of Arts and the Bachelor
of Science in that the core curriculum is 45 credit hours versus the traditional
core of 60 credits. This reduced core curriculum provides more flexibility and choices
so students can select classes in line with personal and professional interests
and experiences. The BIS degree requires a total of 120 credit hours.
While the BIS degree provides a flexible core curriculum, it still maintains
the major elements of the Villanova core in the humanities, ethics, philosophy,
social sciences and quantitative and scientific theory.
We've created this program to meet your needs as a part-time adult student!
